Reflections on the Evaluation Reform of Higher Education of Traditional Chinese Medicine

  • Education evaluation is related to the direction of education development. Facing the new mission of inheriting, innovating and developing traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the new era and the new task of building a high-quality education system during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan", in view of the main problems in the evaluation of higher TCM education, such as the lack of evaluation indicators of TCM characteristics, the single evaluation method for scientific research, the imperfect evaluation mechanism for diversified talents, and the homogenization of students' academic evaluation. The paper proposed the evaluation reform paths of higher TCM education that met the development needs of the new era in terms of strengthening characteristics-led discipline evaluation, cementing the fundamental task of moral education, improving the teacher evaluation of stimulating various talents' vitality, establishing the scientific research evaluation of highlighting quality and contribution, following the growth law of TCM talents along with perfecting the student evaluation of promoting all-round development. It was aimed to explore the path of the evaluation reform of higher TCM education nationwide, improving the high-quality development of TCM education as well as promoting the inheritance, innovation and development of TCM, thus serving the national strategy of "Healthy China" at a high level.
