Abstract
College students' recognition of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture affects the depth and breadth of the development of TCM culture. This paper investigated the cultural identity of TCM college and university students in many non-TCM colleges and universities across the country in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The obtained data was analyzed in terms of reliability, validity, correlation, as well as applied to make a differentiation analysis on the cognitive level, emotional dimension and behavior of college students in view of TCM culture. The results of questionnaire and interview showed that non-TCM college students did not know much about the basic knowledge of TCM culture, but they had high enthusiasm for emotional identification and behavior implementation of TCM culture. Through the help of non TCM colleges and universities, TCM research institutions and the state, non-TCM college students can improve their TCM cultural awareness, further improve their TCM cultural identity, and then strengthen their cultural self-confidence.
