  • The "Belt and Road" initiative provides new opportunities for the development of higher education in Chinese medicine, and puts forward new tasks for its internationalization transformation and development. Through summarizing the current internationalization situation of higher education in Chinese medicine from both domestic and foreign aspects, the study points out that the internationalization transformation and development of higher education in Chinese medicine is a strategic choice of the times to actively adapt to the "Belt and Road" initiative, to realize the sustainable development of education in Chinese medicine, as well as to promote the building of a human community with a shared future. At the same time, the 60 years of international education experience of domestic Chinese medical colleges and universities, the solid promotion of the national "double first-class university plan" construction, and the steady development of overseas Chinese medical centers provide the strategic foundation for the internationalization transformation of higher education in Chinese medicine. Therefore, the study proposes the following strategic measures such as converting the concept of higher education in Chinese medicine, promoting the internationalization of talent training and curriculum designing, as well as accelerating the internationalization of faculty and students to realize the internationalization transformation of higher education in Chinese medicine.
