Abstract: Through combining traditional Chinese medical thoughts with modern medical technology, acupuncture anesthesia has become an innovative achievement in the history of Chinese medicine. During the development history of more than half a century, it has gone through the process from "hot" to "cold", and then back to the original medical position. The birth of acupuncture anesthesia is an important opportunity for acupuncture to go global, which greatly promotes the international development of acupuncture. This historical process shows that: acupuncture anesthesia has fully demonstrated the scientific value of acupuncture. In addition, the national attention to acupuncture anesthesia is an important support for the internationalization of acupuncture. At the same time, the internationalization of acupuncture also needs the efforts of overseas Chinese and the support of policies from other countries.
