Abstract:
Multidisciplinary crossing is the distinctive feature of the third revolution in life science and medicine. The new medical education represented by medical-industrial integration is a new task in front of medical universities and colleges, which is of great significance to the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) disciplines. Through analyzing the research achievements, professional settings and talent cultivation characteristics of 25 TCM colleges and universities in China, we found that multidisciplinary crossing education has such problems as insufficient attention, weak foundation, lack of interdisciplinary teaching and research teams, as well as inadequate cultivation system. Thus, we propose the idea of promoting the development of medical-industrial integration education by establishing innovative organization and strengthening discipline construction. In addition, we cite the implementation models and practical experiences of universities and colleges in different regions, and proposes practical ways for TCM colleges and universities to carry out medical and industrial talents training, such as embedding medical and industrial education into the long schooling system and strengthening the practice of innovation and entrepreneurship.
