Abstract: We analyzed the necessity and urgency of offering a course on the philosophy (history) of Chinese medicine in higher education institutions of Chinese medicine through summarizing its current situation in comprehensive and higher education institutions of Chinese medicine. In this way, we advocate to actively develop a course on the philosophy (history) of Chinese medicine in higher education institutions of Chinese medicine. We also design the related teaching objectives, teaching materials, teaching contents, as well as teaching methods and deepen the teaching contents by combining the second classroom with ideological and political curriculum. In conclusion, the course on the philosophy (history) of Chinese medicine can provide new vision and materials for the construction of "new liberal arts" and "new medical science", while helping cultivate Chinese medicine talents. It also provides a certain amount of ideological nutrition for maintaining positive and innovative development of Chinese medicine.
