Abstract:
Taiping Shenghui Formula is a large scale official prescription book of the Northern Song Dynasty, in which Volume 96 and Volume 97 specialize in traditional Chinese medicine dietary therapy, containing a total of 320 dietary treatment prescriptions. The development of specialized books on traditional Chinese dietary therapy in the Tang Dynasty saw the emergence of two approaches to compilation: the herbal and the prescription formulas. The two volumes of
Taiping Shenghui Formula on "Food Treatment" have significantly improved compared to previous generations in terms of the dosage of dietary therapy formulas, the scope of targeted disease sources, and the standardization of formula composition. This is a reflection of the inheritance and development of the achievements of Han and Tang dietary therapy. The two volumes of "Food Treatment" have the characteristics of emphasizing formula over theory, focusing on taste and texture, and paying attention to the ease of obtaining and processing food (medicine) materials. It is worth further in-depth research to explore and discover its clinical practice value.
