Abstract:
The equity of the allocation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) healthcare resources is a crucial factor influencing the development of the TCM. This study utilizes data from 78 public TCM hospitals in Jiangsu Province, employing the Agglomeration Degree method and Theil index to examine the level of equalization in the allocation of TCM healthcare resources in Jiangsu province. The findings are as follows: the Health Resource Agglomeration Degree in Jiangsu Province ranged from 0.062 to 4.270, and the Population Agglomeration Degree ranged from 0.085 to 2.356. The Theil index of various indicators of TCM resources in Jiangsu Province ranged from 0.080 to 0.163. The Theil index of human resources was generally higher than that of material resources, and the within-group contribution rate was greater than the between-group contribution rate. This indicates that the main cause of inequality in the allocation of TCM medical resources lies in the imbalance of resource allocation within regions. It is recommended to improve the equity of TCM medical and health resource allocation in Jiangsu Province through coordinated efforts in three areas: expanding the total amount of TCM resources, promoting an equitable layout of material resources, and advancing the equitable development of TCM human resources.
