Abstract:
With its "preventive treatment" philosophy and holistic regulation advantages, Chinese medicine (TCM) provides crucial support for proactive health management in the elderly population. Its deep integration with national policy systems has facilitated the transformation of elderly healthcare services from passive treatment to active prevention, effectively addressing the health challenges posed by population aging.Based on the dimensions of policy tools and active health, this paper explores and analyses the current status of Chinese medicine's participation in the active health management of the elderly, and provides reference for the optimisation of subsequent relevant policies. It is found that the number of relevant policy documents is increasing but the form of the documents needs to be improved; the internal use structure of policy tools is not balanced; and the distribution of each link under the active health dimension is uneven. Therefore, based on long-term planning, it is imperative to refine the top-level design of proactive health policies, optimize the internal structure of policy instruments, and enhance multi-sectoral coordination. These efforts will provide a scientific foundation for improving the integrated policy framework of TCM and proactive health, thereby advancing the goal of healthy aging.
