Abstract: Through the analysis of the current situation of the elderly care model with Chinese characteristics, the author believes that the current mode has not given full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine elderly care, and can not meet the needs of the elderly "medical, nursing and prevention". This is related to factors such as imperfect relevant policies, insufficient integration of the theory of "treating and preventing disease" and Chinese characteristics of elderly care, slow development of Chinese characteristics of elderly care technology, and lack of Chinese characteristics of elderly care service talents. This paper discusses and analyzes the help of traditional Chinese medicine to build the elderly care model with Chinese characteristics, and proposes to improve the relevant policies of the model; focus on the theory of "treating and preventing disease", explore the integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine for the elderly; with the application of appropriate technology as the starting point, promote the elderly care model with Chinese characteristics, in order to continuously improve the model, and further help the implementation of the national strategy of healthy aging.
