Abstract
Cheng Dan'an, born in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, is the most famous acupuncture and moxibustion and educator in modern China. From the establishment of the Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion Research Society in 1929 to set foot in acupuncture and moxibustion education to the end of the war in Japan in November 1937, the Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion Medical School was destroyed. Through nearly a decade of acupuncture and moxibustion education exploration, he created the modern acupuncture and moxibustion education model. By clarifying the educational purpose, strengthening the management system and faculty construction, implementing flexible enrollment methods, and consolidating the basic guarantee construction of education; through the construction of curriculum and textbook system with modern academic characteristics, distinctive teaching ideas and methods, and solid practice and assessment methods, the connotation framework of acupuncture and moxibustion professional education has been constructed, which has made historic contributions to the development of contemporary acupuncture and moxibustion professional education. At the same time, his inclusive and pragmatic style has formed a solid foundation for education, established a flexible employment mechanism, and is good at utilizing social forces to run schools, which still has practical significance and reference value.
